Acrylic Stands

Acrylic is the main material used in desktop or table top tools like the acrylic stands.

Usually, acrylic stands function as a marketing tool and part of one’s interior design, an information vehicle or simply as a document file storage. However, only little is known about the characteristics of acrylic and its corresponding properties.

Acrylic is a material which is made up of synthetic fibers derived from a certain polymer by the name of polyacrylonitrile. This material usually weighs an average molecular weight of about 100,000 having around 1900 monomer unit. A polymer should be able to have at least eighty five percent of the acrylonitrile monomer to be able to be termed as an acrylic in the U.S. “Orlon” was the very famous name of the early acrylic fibers made and manufactured by a very popular company which makes various forms of materials. This company is popularly known as the Dupont Corporation.

To be able to produce this kind of material, a polymer is initially formed by means of free-radical polymerization which is usually done in an aqueous suspension. Upon doing so, the polymer fiber is then produced my means of dissolving the polymer and changing it to a solvent material such as N-dimethyformamide or Sodium thiocyanate. After doing so, it needs to be metered using a multi-hole spinner to thicken the resultant filaments contained in the solution or it can also be evaporated by means of dry spinning in a stream of inert gases which are heated accordingly. The completion of the process may be done through the following processes: washing, drying, stretching, and crimping. Once the meticulous process is finished the outcome may result to a material being used for hats, sweaters, yarns for knitting, awnings, rugs, covers, upholstery, and office supplies such as the acrylic stands. The acrylic fibers used in acrylic stands are usually manufactured in the Far Eastern regions. U.S famous brands of acrylic are as follows: Acrilan from Monsanto, Orlon from Dupont, and American Cyanamid’s Creslan.

Being lightweight is acrylic’s main property. Its softness and warmth with wool like texture add up to its attractive feel. Acrylic can be colored depending on the needs of certain businesses or users. This is why we can see various acrylic holders and stands in a variety of colors.

Acrylic’s common used is for clothing purposes. However, recent developments have made it possible to use acrylic as a medium for interiors, furniture, and office supplies. Its lightweight and versatile characteristics make acrylic stands a popular and widely used display medium in trade shows, retail showrooms, career fairs, product sampling fairs, and the likes. A good number of manufacturers are producing acrylic based indoor and outdoor displays. And most of the companies who avail of these are focused in the art of marketing communication, branding, and advertisement. Aside from its storage capabilities, acrylic stands are widely used today to aid in marketing efforts. These types of display systems exhibit the products and services of various establishments in the most practical yet aesthetically pleasing manner by sending their messages in a clear and convincing manner. This and the other above mentioned reasons are what makes Acrylic stands an in demand commodity.
